The Alachua County Farm Bureau Women’s Program is honored to announce that its annual Youth Speech Contest application is now open. The purpose of this competition is to bring awareness to agriculture & enhance the participants’ public speaking skills. This competition is open to all students who:
- Are between the ages of 11-18
- Reside in Alachua County
This year’s topic is: “What are some of the proactive, collaborative steps that farmers, ranchers, local communities, and organizations like Farm Bureau can take to help guard against invasive species threatening Florida agriculture?”
This is the County level of the competition. The County Intermediate and Senior winners will compete for the District Title in September 2026. The District winner will compete at the State Finals during the FFBF Annual Meeting in late October. Prize money will be awarded to the winners!
The contest will be held at 16206 NW 163rd Ln, Alachua, FL 32615, on April 6, 2026, at 6 pm.
The speech must be 5 minutes in length. Completed applications must be received before 4:00 pm on March 31, 2026.
